Example Facts:
Fact:1
If John Smith decided on a domain name
(johnswoodenpaintedbirds.com) now John already has another website hosted at (abcwebhostinggallery) called johnsmetalpaintedbirds.com. It cost him $9.99 to register a domain name there. But today Johns web host has had some server problems and the hosting site is down. So John go's to Network Solutions to see if his domain name is avaliable. Now Network Solutions has grabbed Johns domain name just because he checked on its avaliability. So John is left with 2 choices
1. register the domain name at Network Solutions and pay $25.01 more than it would have cost him at his web Hosting Company.
2. Don't pay Network Solutions the $34.99 and take a chance that when Network Solutions releases the domain name John will be there to grab it and register the domain name at his web hosting Company.
Fact:2
(If John dosn't sit at his Computer for the next 4 to 5 days 24 hours a day to monitor the release of his domain name from Network Solutions so he can register it at his hosting registrar for $9.99 someone else somewhere in the world may have had the same thought of wanting that same domain name and may end up owning it.)
Fact:3
John was put into a position to have to choose to spend $34.99 or wait and pay $9.99. Some of us call this entrapment?
Fact:4
Well John waited the 4 days and took a chance on getting his domain name back, but some else wanted it too and beat John to it. Now the new owner not John is getting 100's of orders a day for wooden painted birds. John's loss I guess? Or maybe john's gain for damages he may be able to recover from Network Solutions?
